Gau Gram Yojana
India is a place with the age-old tradition of worshiping cows. We call cows “Gau Mata” and even before we make food for our family, we make a roti/chapati for the holy cows. India respects cows and aims to protect them from cow slaughter taking place in society.
Under the Gau Gram Yojana, Ekal organizes the Gau Gram Kumbh with the theme of ‘A step towards cow protection’. The event gathers the workers of Ekal Abhiyan along with all the people dedicated to cow protection. The event communicates the message that to protect and preserve our culture and civilization it is important to protect the cows. To make the campaign of cow protection and conservation successful, the Kathakaars of Shri Hari Satsang Samiti are inspiring the farmers to do cow rearing by awaking religious sentiments towards cows in the villages. They encourage families living in rural areas to rear the cows that have returned from the cowshed and can make economic progress through them.
